What does it mean to be a member of the Ventura County Blues Society?
The Ventura County Blues Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to keeping the blues alive. By joining, you support the Society and become part of an elite group of folks who support the music, its musicians, and an organization that makes a positive difference in the lives of others by giving back to the local community.
Just like blues societies the world over, the primary focus of the Ventura County Blues Society is to preserve America’s original indigenous art form, the blues. We strive to accomplish this through community blues events, blues education, and by continually increasing the level of blues music awareness.
The Society is self-supported through the work of its members who volunteer their time at events, such as the Ventura County Blues Festival, fundraising projects, sponsorships, and membership dues. Each of these activities plays a vital role in getting the word out.
Your tax-deductible Ventura County Blues Society membership supports a non-profit organization and affords you these benefits:
- Discounts at Society events
- Discounts on all Society merchandise
…and more exciting benefits are being developed as the Society grows!
Members of the Ventura County Blues Society are part of a caring, concerned group that promotes “America’s music” as well as supporting those in need right here in the county of Ventura…and they’re having fun doing it!
